Gemini SEO is a practical label for assessing how Google Gemini describes your business and improving the public information relevant to those answers. It does not mean you can directly edit Gemini’s responses or purchase a guaranteed position.
Start by separating Gemini Apps from AI Overviews in Google Search. They are different experiences. A business appearing in one response has not demonstrated visibility across the other. Your report should name the product and collection conditions rather than grouping everything under ‘Google AI’.
What counts as evidence?
Google explains that Gemini Apps may show sources and related links, and that not all responses include them. A related link is not automatically proof of the origin of every statement. See Google’s explanation of sources in Gemini Apps.
Record what you can observe: the exact answer, the business description, visible source links and any factual errors. Do not invent a citation when no source is displayed. If a source is present, open it and check whether it supports the nearby statement.
01Mention
The business name appears in the answer.
02Source link
A visible link points to a page.
03Recommendation
The answer presents the business as an option for the task.
A response can contain one, several or none of these. Count them separately.
Create a repeatable question set
Select questions representing discovery, comparison and provider selection. Use the same wording across review periods. Capture language, location context, date, product mode and whether the conversation was fresh. Note relevant personalization or connected-app conditions where applicable.
| Question family | Illustrative question | What to inspect |
|---|---|---|
| Service discovery | Which agencies help B2B companies improve AI visibility in Dubai? | Relevance of the shortlist and geographical claims. |
| Provider comparison | How should a company compare AEO agencies? | Criteria, evidence and service scope. |
| Brand verification | What services does Crescendo Agency offer? | Accuracy of the business description. |
| Implementation | What should an AI visibility audit include? | Usefulness of the answer and supporting sources. |
Brand-named questions test factual accuracy. They are not evidence that your business is discoverable by someone who has never heard of it. Keep branded and unbranded results in separate groups.
Improve facts you can actually substantiate
Review your service pages, team information, contact details and public profiles you control. Describe the business consistently without forcing identical wording everywhere. Make important distinctions explicit: a market served remotely is not a local office; a sample workflow is not a completed client engagement.
Choose one commercial question and assess whether the website answers it fully. A buyer comparing agencies may need scope, responsibilities, reporting methods, exclusions and examples. Improving those facts is a more defensible project than inserting long lists of AI product names.
Our AEO agency page explains the service approach. Supporting guides should answer distinct questions and point back when the reader needs implementation help.
A filled Gemini accuracy-review worksheet
Use two separate test groups: unbranded discovery questions and brand-named fact checks. The example below is a demonstration of how to fill the record, not a captured Gemini response.
| Field | Example entry |
|---|---|
| Question group | Branded accuracy check. |
| Prompt | Where does Crescendo Agency provide services, and which locations are offices? |
| Collection conditions | Record the actual date, language, mode and fresh-chat status when the test is run. |
| Hypothetical issue | The answer treats a market served remotely as a physical office. |
| Website evidence | Inspect the relevant location page, contact details and visible source links. |
| Action | Clarify ambiguous owned-page wording; document any third-party error separately. |
| Follow-up | Repeat the question under recorded conditions and retain both answers. |
Before running the test, the observation field should remain empty. Filling it from expectation would manufacture evidence. If Gemini provides no source links, record that fact rather than assigning the answer to a page you assume it used.
Three actions for three different findings
| Finding | Response | Evidence needed |
|---|---|---|
| Wrong business fact | Check owned information and cited sources; correct the factual source where possible. | Exact statement, authoritative company detail and any visible source link. |
| No mention for an unbranded buying question | Review whether the public offer answers that buyer’s need. | Question set, response history and page-level content gaps. |
| A source link without a recommendation | Record citation and recommendation separately. | The wording around the link and the actual destination. |
The Dubai GEO page is a useful example of a place to explain remote delivery and market coverage. Its wording is a fact-checking input, not evidence of an observed Gemini error.
Measure visibility without making up precision
Suppose 15 unbranded questions are tested twice, producing 30 responses. The business is mentioned in 6, an owned URL is linked in 3, and the business is recommended in 4. Report the counts separately. They overlap, so adding them to claim 13 appearances would be misleading.
Track questions and URLs, not just a single score. A mention in an irrelevant answer can be less useful than accurate inclusion in a provider-selection response. Website referrals and qualified enquiries belong in a separate section of the report.
Our AI visibility tools comparison explains what to evaluate in monitoring software. Request access to the underlying prompts and responses before relying on a summary number.
Keep the platform programmes distinct
Use the AI Overviews workflow for Google Search observations and the Perplexity guide for that platform’s source and crawler checks. Shared content improvements can help readers across channels, but results must be recorded independently.
Crescendo’s take
A screenshot saying your company is ‘the best’ is weak evidence if the prompt already named you. We would judge a Gemini programme on accurate descriptions, useful unbranded questions and reproducible observations. An impressive answer without collection conditions is not a reliable report.
How often should we review?
Use a manageable fixed schedule and repeat the same sample. Review more closely after material service changes or persistent factual errors. Daily fluctuations should not trigger daily rewrites of otherwise useful pages.
